This is a Ring Billed Gull I met in Niagara Falls one time. So common in many parts of Canada that we often think of them as nuisance birds, but they have their own beauty like any wildlife. Comments always welcome.
Photo of the Week #162
Well, here we go into another week. This time, I have dug into my Scotland folder and came out with this image of a lone boat on Loch Alsh . This image has actually had a couple of incarnations over the years, but I like this one the best. I have softened the scene considerably and I absolutely love the water. Minimalistic images have a way of grabbing you for some reason. I hope you like it.
Photo of the Week #161
This is an image I have always loved. Abstracts are a lot of fun to work with sometimes, I love being creative with light and shadow. I hear people talking about recovering shadow and I often wonder why as the shadow can also be part of the story. Maybe my tastes are just a little darker than some, not sure.
Photo of the Week #160
“The Tree” has lived in this field for a very long time. It shows signs of distress but that’s character, right? I’ve observed it for my whole life and noticed all it’s different looks depending on light or weather. I find it interesting how things change when it’s environment changes. Different people see different things of course, but when I look at this tree, I see a character. This was made during a freak snowstorm in April when everything became white for a brief time again. I love the feel and the textures and with the soft processing, it is a pleasing portrait that I was very pleased to be there to capture.
Photo of the Week #159
This is yet another long forgotten photo from my archives. In these complicated times, a lot of people have been looking through some older folders and re-working some older stuff that didn’t get used for one reason or another. I look at it as a chance to learn new techniques.
