 THE SEARCH FOR QUIET

I have brought together a body of work I call “THE SEARCH FOR QUIET”. The notion of quiet can of course take many forms. There are really no rules, it could involve a single person who helps to convey a sense of quiet, or it may be a landscape in an atmospheric setting or anything in between. French Composer Claude Debussy was credited with saying “music is about the space between the notes”. He said it was that space that gives the notes their shape, rhythm and emotional resonance. I think photography is similar. Often, the thing that makes a good photo is not what we include in the frame, but what we leave out. I desire “quiet” in my photography just as I do in my life.
